Our Journey
The foundation of Backbone Finvest is built on discipline, patience, and market understanding.
After completing a degree in Commerce, Amit Khandelwal began his journey into the financial markets at ICMA, under the mentorship of the late Gautam Majumder, who instilled a rare discipline — observing the market without trading for nearly six years. This phase allowed deep exposure to market cycles, economic shifts, and investor psychology.
Further professional training followed under Subhadaip Nandy and Ashok Sharma, along with hands-on industry experience at Nirmal Bang.
A life-altering car accident later resulted in an 11-month recovery period, after which Amit re-entered the industry as an Equity & Currency Derivatives Dealer at Master Trust.
In 2018, the journey moved towards entrepreneurship, culminating in the co-founding of Backbone Finvest Pvt Ltd in 2021, alongside partner Soumik Halder.
Amit is also NISM-certified as an Equity Research Analyst, reinforcing the firm’s research-driven approach.
